The Kossuth Folkdancers were established in 1965 and celebrated their 45th anniversary in 2010. The year was filled with many performances and fundraisers and was topped off with a lively and energy filled concert at the University of Waterloo - Humanities Theatre in November. The group now starts to plan for the next 45 years. The first major plan on the agenda is a return trip to Hungary in 2012.
We will also continue to provide many regular performances at multicultural events, Hungarian celebrations, and commemorations thoughout the year.
The Kossuth Folkdancers are made up of three groups: children (ages 3 -10), juniors (10-15), and the seniors/adults (16+). The group practices Monday nights at the Kossuth Hall beginning at 6:30 pm. The Kossuth Hall (Hungarian Canadian Club of Waterloo-Wellington) is located at 979 Kossuth Road, Cambridge.
